Reasons to Consider CTE
High School
- CTE courses contain rigorous academic curriculum and performance standards and may be designated as Level 3, the same as honors courses.
- Many CTE students earn industry certifications, which make them more employable.
- Industry certifications may be used to earn college credits and meet requirements for high school graduation.
Colleges and Universities
- Students may earn college credits for industry certifications.
- Through articulation agreements, students may save money on tuition for associate degrees in the Florida College System.
- Industry certifications may make students more competitive for job openings.
- Many students apply knowledge and skills learned in CTE programs to bachelor’s and master’s degrees.
Our CTE Digital Design Program
The purpose of this program is to prepare our learners for work as digital multimedia designers.This program offers a sequence of digital design courses that provides coherent and rigorous content aligned with challenging academic standards and relevant technical knowledge and skills needed to prepare for further education and careers in the Digital Arts, A/V Technology, and Multimedia career cluster; provides technical skill proficiency, and includes competency-based applied learning that contributes to the academic knowledge, higher-order reasoning and creative problem-solving skills, work attitudes, general employability skills, technical skills, and occupation-specific skills.
Digital Design Multimedia Programs/ACA Industry Certifications
- Digital Design 1 (Adobe Photoshop) - Image editing and compositing for print and digital publishing.
- Digital Design 2 (Adobe Illustrator) - Vector graphics and illustration for print and digital publishing.
- Digital Design 3 (Adobe InDesign) - Page design and layout for print and digital publishing.
- Digital Design 4 (Adobe Premiere Pro) - Industry-standard pro video and film editing.
- Digital Design 5 (Adobe Dreamweaver or Adobe Animate)
*All Digital Design Courses are High School Courses. *DD2-DD5 are Honors Courses
Honors courses in middle school carry high school credit. Honors courses carry half of a quality point, meaning that when calculating GPA, an honors course gives the student a higher GPA value than a regular course.
